The Black Rabbit! My version by Neomi

One day a little rabbit was walking to his friend's house to play.

Suddenly, clouds came out and started surrounding him in the middle of the forest. He didn’t know where to go so he just followed his little shadow. After a while of following his shadow, his shadow began to get bigger and bigger. He decided to run as fast as he could with his tiny little legs, but no matter how fast he ran, his shadow wouldn’t go away. After a few minutes, he decided to ignore it and just walk to his friend's house, Oscar, the dragon.

After a couple of hours, he noticed that his shadow was still following him, so he decided he was not going to ignore it… instead, he was going to fight it. First, the little rabbit went to find some objects to make a weapon. After searching for objects around in the forest, he found some great looking sharp sticks, so he picked them up and tried to put them together with the other objects that he found. A few minutes later, he was done with the weapon. He called it the fighting stick master weapon.

After a while, he saw his shadow and he started to fight it.  trying and trying, he got tired and gave up.  He walked to his friend’s house feeling sad. When he arrived at his friend's house, Oscar(the dragon) asked him.  “What's wrong little rabbit?” So the little rabbit replied. “ I tried to fight my shadow but no matter how hard I hit it with my fighting stick master weapon, it wouldn’t work!”Oscar the dragon explained to the little white rabbit why he couldn’t fight his shadow. After an hour of talking, the little rabbit  finally understood why he couldn’t fight his shadow and said, “Thank you Oscar!”

Next morning, he went to play at the park. After Oscar’s explanation, the shadow seemed to be friendly. Since that time the little white rabbit never got bored as he could always play with his new wonderful friend!

New Zealand is in Lockdown...

We were very excited to see each other and share our thoughts about the new lockdown. We understand the importance of staying home and following the lockdown rules... but we miss school, sport and our friends!  Click HERE to read Zurielle's blog post about the new lockdown and Covid.

Our first day of distance learning was very productive and full of fun! Tomorrow, we'll try to play new games and think of more interesting activities together!

Room on the Broom - Mason's version.

Once upon a time, there was a Witch on a broom with a Cat. She dropped her hat, and down they went! They looked all around the place until they saw a Dog come with a hat in his mouth. The Dog dropped it and said’ is there space for a clean Dog like me?’’ "Of course", said the Witch "you can come and help me with my journey around the forest floor '’.Thank you’ said the Dog’ you are very kind’ and as soon as the Witch could speak her bracelet came off. ‘No!’ said the Witch and down they went.

She looked all around the forest floor. Out of nowhere there was a Bird with her bracelet and dropped it.’Do you think there is Room on the Broom for me?’ ‘Of course’ said the Witch.’Thank you’ said the bird. ‘No problem’ said the Witch ‘you can look just in case something bad happens,’ and off they went. They glided in the sky until ‘Oh no my wand!’ shouted the Witch. ‘Down we go!’ For the third time they landed. ‘Oof’ said the Animals and the Witch. They looked all around until a Frog came out ‘Ahhh!’ shouted the Witch .’Ahh!’ shouted the Animals.’Hi my name is Frog. I like this wand and do you think I can fit on the broom?’ ‘Of course.’ said the Witch.’Thank you said the Frog.So the frog hopped along to the broom and off they went until the broom snapped in half! The Animals went into the mud .’That hurt!’ said the Animals.

The Witch looked behind and saw a Dragon. ‘Rahhhh!’ The Witch was so scared she fainted. The Dragon said ‘this is a nice meal.’ Then there was a Meerkat on him, it was so fast, the Dragon got dizzy and fell to the floor.’Hi my name is Meerkat and I am a Meerkat.’ ‘Thank you.’ said the Witch.’Your welcome.’ said the Meerkat.’Can I fit on the broom?’ said the Meerkat’ but there is no broom!’ said the Witch.’Don’t worry, here is a magic wand.Tell the animals to get what they like best’ ok said the Witch’ so she did what he told him to do.They got their favourite stuff on, put it in a cauldron the witch did a spell and... there was a brand new broom! “Yyay!!!” they shouted’ THE END

My trip to the Auckland museum ( Year 3 & 4 ) by Mia Rose

Yesterday we went to the Auckland museum. First, we got out of the bus. Then we went into the museum. Lastly we saw “NZs Past History” we saw lots of awesome things there! It was fun and interesting. Also we saw some sad things and bugs. We saw some soldiers that died years ago in action. This museum trip was fun and even though some people were being mean to me i was still happy to go to the museum :)

Rain storm by Sekope

Rain comes down plop plop .

Storm makes rumbling noise boom boom

Cars honking in traffic honk honk honk

When I hear the rain storm

I feel the sand moving

Like the rain storm is going

to suck it up and wash it away.

Room on the Broom by Asja

The witch lost her hat then the dog found the witches hat.

The dog lost his toy then the bird found the toy then gave it to the dog.

Then the frog came to the witch with the broom.

We were reading room on the broom .

Then the witch  broom was broken.

That’s  my most favourite book in the whole world.
